Two years ago, I started my project : I tried to program my first game with Java. I wanted to create an real Java game (so whitout libraries), moreover my aim was a game which is better than the today's games, not about graphics but about the difficulty, the game is quiet hard : Now Mario or Minecraft (whereas I heard Minecraft become harder and harder) are too easy,
Once upon a time (nop I'm not addict to the drugs) a Smiley was sleeping, when someone stole his legs. This guy was a penguin :
Smiley angry, has been catapulted by his friends to enter into the labyrinth of the sky, to bring down "Pugiboss" and recover his legs
in short you have to kill the penguin... And these monsters :
Here I will speak about the Game ! To start : Graphics are not very beautiful, however them make up a special atmosphere ! To create my pics, I placed every single pixel : Somebody will say to me "that's pixelArt", but in fact it's very practical, even if it's extremely slow ! And you have to know that gaphics in a game, it's the hardest things. For my game I made the best of me, to telling you, I try to make animations with monsters explotions, which look pretty good for a begining, but still the same things, my technic was very slow, and here not even pratical : Yes I've done all the image by hand... To make it short I really enjoyed respect a style, that is quite colored !
So about sounds, and musics ! On the one hand, you will say to me, there is no sounds. Yes I didn't wanted make too many sounds, I mean that I know some game, which are saturated, to avoid this mistake, I preferred to put no sounds. On the other hand I didn't hesitated to introduce some musics in my game : with the album SmileyAdventure, four sounds (whit the 5th, bonus). I thinks you guessed, I used the software : FL studio which is quite complicated because there is too many buttons. But anyway, I made pretty interesting musics, I don't say that everybody have to love them ! I would like to criticize, that is not the musics style, that I looked for my game; indeed I wanted to insert this musics style (Riddle from Gigi d'Agostino) which reflect a Smiley's adventure...
The Gameplay :
- carte blanche, but only for the story, which will arrive later in the trailer, actually it's a blending of all the game I know ! But otherwise for the levels, I made them no matter how, we don't have real objectives except the only one the last boss : even if we have to recover our legs, the game still whitout real primary objectives. But don't worry I will recode the game soon. And there will have certainly more story and objectives, in the second optus : little drawback, this game won't bring out immedialy (maybe never, of course, I already imagine the rest of the story, which I can bequeath) Else for the maps, I wanted give a creative dimention, that's why I tried to make different lvls
- The handiness, is not very good, and I did it on purpose : I like hard game Ok ?
